In this lesson we will discuss how college degrees and trade programs work with credits. We will go through an overview of the different levels of college degrees.
Accreditation and Graduation
Schools are accredited which means they have the ability to award degrees. Accreditation is a long process for schools, to make sure that schools are providing an education that is worthy or a degree or diploma.
Evidence of Learning vs Seat Time
There are two primary ways of evaluating education. The first is seat time, which is what most schools use. The second is competency which is not as common because it requires more individual attention.
Graduation Math
For this lesson we view both a high school and college graduation plans. Making sure you have enough credits for graduation is a complex series of math problems.
Quiz Assessment
The primary purpose of this is to quantify - for example it can be used to count the number of firms, and the number of workers, creatively employed in any given location, and hence to identify places with particularly high concentrations of creative activities.
